Collective Harvest
For this project, we conducted a site visit to Lemberge, where each student selected a specific location to design an architectural intervention. I chose a cornfield that was divided into four sections, which became the conceptual basis of the design.
The building is positioned along the intersection lines of the field, housing several cohousing units. The existing layout of the cornfield informed the spatial organisation, allowing each unit to have a private shaded side and a side connected to a shared communal garden.
The architectural approach was intentionally simple and restrained in order to preserve the calm, rural character of the landscape. A lightweight steel truss structure was used to reference the typology of traditional agricultural barns, creating a subtle dialogue between contemporary housing and the surrounding countryside.
