Renovating a Boat
As part of the No Grid – Shipyard project, intensive work was carried out on the ship's cabin. The interior was fully cleaned, sanded, and treated, after which the structural framework was built and insulation installed. The floor and ceiling were carefully finished, including the installation of electrical wiring and drainage systems, transforming the cabin into a fully functional and comfortable space.
I designed and fabricated custom window frames to reuse the existing portholes. This required precise craftsmanship, as the windows needed to remain fully operable while accommodating an additional 12 cm of interior insulation. The process involved careful measurement, fitting, and adjustment to ensure both functionality and a clean, accurate finish.
This task highlighted the importance of precision and hands-on detailing in architectural interventions, as even small modifications had a significant impact on the overall spatial quality and usability of the cabin.
